If you have a heart to be involved in missions, we’d love to chat to you and discuss how we could partner together to help you fulfill the passion and call in your life.
You can contact us to discuss being involved in missions and current opportunities. You can also read below about some of the local and global missions opportunities currently at Breakthrough.
Real Help
Real Help is all about meeting our community right where they’re at. It’s about showing them love by providing the practical and physical help they are in need of.
From a food hamper when things are tough, to a listening ear when they’re not sure where to turn to next. Or maybe its as simple as providing transportation and support for someone who has a difficult appointment to attend. Real Help is about providing the love of Jesus in a practical way to those in need.
Local Schools
Our Breakfast Clubs enable us to provide children in our local primary and secondary schools with a nutritious breakfast to start their day. It is one of the ways we support the families in our local community.
Local Bridge Events
Local bridge events happen regularly with the purpose of connecting with our local community. These include a wide range of events such as sports days for local youth, kids’ carnivals, outdoor concerts and special presentations at our church facility. These events are always designed to not just provide people with a fun experience, but to connect them with Jesus!
Overseas Missions Partners
We are partnered together with a number of missions all around the world. These missions are making a real impact in the lives of people in some of the hardest to reach places on the globe, and we are honoured to partner with them with not just regular financial support, but also practical help and sending teams of helpers to work with them in making followers of Jesus in all nations!
Some of our missions partners are:
JERRY SAVELLE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
For many years Breakthrough has been closely partnered with JSMI in their mission to “Motivate, Evangelise, Disciple & Reach Out.”
JSMI does extensive missions work in Africa. In addition to the humanitarian work of distributing food, clothing, school supplies, orphanage support and many other outreaches, crusades are conducted annually where as many as 7,000 people have run to the altar to meet Jesus in just one week.
They also run the “Chariots of Light” motorcycle ministry, an outreach designed specifically for bikers. In the last year Chariots saw nearly 30,000 people make a commitment to follow Jesus!
Bruce Hills (World Outreach International)
World Outreach International exists to impact Least Reached People groups with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
A variety of ministry approaches are used to engage in transformational discipleship among Least Reached People groups.
Love to the Nations / AbbaHouse
Love to the Nations is committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ to the nations, both in word and in deed. To encourage believers to rise up and live the extraordinary life God has called them to live through the power of the Holy Spirit.
ABBAHOUSE: THESSALONIKI is a children’s home being pioneered and supported by Love to the Nations in Thessaloniki, Greece. The nation of Greece has been hard hit with financial struggles and the refugee crisis in the past few years, which not only has affected adults, but the children as well. This crisis has resulted in many “social orphans”, children whom are surrendered from their parent’s care due to inability to care for them. This, along with children abandoned and orphaned by other causes, is the purpose of why we are opening ABBAHOUSE, a home where the orphan is no longer an orphan but a child loved by God, their Heavenly Father.
Living Waters Village (Borneo)
Ronny and Kay Heyboer left Australia for Borneo in January 1995. They moved to the city of Sintang in January 2002 and bought a large plot of land further in the jungle in order to build accommodation and schools for children who are in need. There are now around 500 children and young people living with them at Living Waters Village. Some of the young people are being supported through tertiary education to gain skills which will benefit the ministry in the future; others are at Bible College at the moment. Besides the support provided by the church itself, a number of our families are supporting children in the village through their sponsorship program.
The vision is to build a village which will provide accommodation for 1,000 neglected children and schools for 2,000 children, from primary to high school level.
